Hell's Canyon Petrified wood, a splotchy green variscite from the Blue Boy Mine, and a sweet ruby are set into a fine silver setting. Lots of little details on this - pierced and carved lines, a smattering of silver balls - all of this is carried into the handmade chain. The handmade chain is made of sterling - each link is fused, forged and has a wee silver ball added to it. This is a brand new design! Lobster claw clasp and a small glass bead by my husband end the chain. The chain is 16" and adjustable to 18". One of a kind! (NFS)
A Dinosaur bone cabochon is set with a pale seafoam green variscite from the Poseidon mine and a pretty pink tourmaline in a fine silver pendant that has been pierced and carved. Strung with assorted shimmery pearls and large chunks of olive and black tourmaline, this necklace is 18" with enough chain to adjust to 20". f you look carefully at dinosaur bone, you will notice that each of the bone cells has become a tiny agate that is surrounded by the bone structure. There are a wide-range of colors found in gem-quality fossil bone, including red, orange, yellow, brown, black and blue. Sometimes a piece will have multi-colored cells and/or adjacent cells of a totally different color. This particular piece is more brown and black - it is very interesting and makes a great conversation piece! (SOLD)
Fordite set into layered fine silver pendant with garnet cabachon. Handmade sterling silver chain with sterling lobster claw clasp. Necklace is 16" with enough chain to lengthen to 18". Pendant is 2" long and 1/2" wide (at widest point).
"Fordite", also known as Detroit agate or Motor Agate, is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the buildup of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), which have been baked numerous times. This is getting harder to find so I was lucky to find a dealer who still has some of the beautiful swirling colors. This is very lightweight and is such a fun conversation piece! (SOLD)
Coyamito Agate with beautiful open tubes is set with a seafoam gray Oregon Sunstone in a fine silver setting that has been pierced and carved. The agate has a small edge of sparkly clean druzy at the bottom which I have left open so you can see it. Perfectly matched patina in the layered silver, this also has a handmade sterling chain with a lobster claw clasp. It is hard to describe the coloring on this agate - it seems to match everything - it has greys, pale brownish lavendar and a small peek of white at the top. This is a lovely necklace that is so versatile! (SOLD)
This is a striking piece of Malibu Picasso Jasper in deep inky blue fading to sky blue with streaks of pale brown and smoky ivory accents. This has been set with a shimmery labradorite in a fine silver setting. The pendant has been pierced and carved to show asymmetrical layers in the metal. The chain is handmade in sterling with a lobster claw clasp. Necklace is 16" with enough chain to be adjustable to 18".
The gentleman I purchased this cabochon from collected this during his hiking in Malibu, California. This is a very versatile necklace that looks great with jeans as well as dressed up. It is one of my personal favorites. (SOLD)
